The Howell Library Board met January 21, 1958, at 7:00 o'clock in the library. Present were Mr. Theodore Krieger, Mr. Paul Baldwin, Mrs. Karl Hoch, Mrs. Gerald McCloskey, Mrs. Bird Hight and Mrs. Calvin Gatesman.

The minutes of the November 19, 1957 meeting were read and approved.

Mrs. Hight reported that the clock again needed attention and she had asked Mr. Robert Chapel to repair it. Also that the O'Lone family had given a gift of $18.00 to the library to be used to purchase children's books. Mrs. Stanley Warner, assistant librarian would like two more hours of work each week. She now puts in 24 hours and would like 26 hours. Mrs. Jerry Fisher would also like more hours no putting in 8 hours and would work extra hours at $.35 an hour.

Mr. Shindorf the janitor, said the boiler to the furnace will be needing repair before another winter. mrs. Hight had talked with Mr. Field local furnace man concerning this and he said the cost would be approximately $125.00.

The library floors are needing attention and Mr.Rothbun who had laid them said they can be patched. Mr. Shindorf would like an electric waxer Mr. Bozarth examined the linoleum and said he could do it all for $65.00. A discussion of this situation followed and it was moved by Mr. Baldwin and seconded by Mrs. McCloskey that a silicone preparation for the linoleum be investigated and to delay the renting or purchasing of an electric waxer. This carried unanimously It was also move by Mrs. Hoch and seconded by Mrs. McCloskey that Mrs. Hight be instructed to purchase sealer for the floors.

After this some time was spent on the 1958 budget after which the board adjourned to meet on Tuesday night, February 3, at 7:00 o'clock in the library. Respectfully submitted, Lillie Gatesman, Record. Secty.
