Howell Michigan February 8, 1956

A City library board meeting was called to order at 7PM Present were Theodore Krieger, chairman, Leslie Merritt secretary, Mrs. Karl Hoch, Mrs. Lillian Gatesman and Mrs. Gerald McCloskey members.

Upon inquiry, Mrs. Hoch informed no action had been taken yet regarding a raise in pay for janitor services at the library to bring this in line with increases granted other city employees. Mr. Krieger said he made inquiry regarding Mr. Shindorf's eligibility for social security under such an increase and such would not be jeopardized.

Moved by Ms. Merritt and supported by Mrs. McCloskey that this board recommends to the city council that a 10% pay increase effective in February be made for janitor services at the library. Motion carried unanimously.

It was reported a leak from the roof was breaking plaster in one of the halls. Inasmuch as the city has agreed to seek bids on roof repair it was asked this matter be referred to the city clerk's' office.

After discussion the following proposed budget was adopted for 1956-1957 and the chairman agreed to present it to the city council as provided by the charter.
