A meeting of the Howell Library Board was called to order at 7PM
Present were Theodore Krieger, chairman Leslie Meritt, secretary, Mrs. Karl Hoch and Mrs. Lillian Gatesman. Absent Mrs. Gerald McCloskey.
Minutes of the meeting of November 14 were read and approved.
Mrs. Hight librarian asked that Mrs. Warner be hired one more day and evening to keep meet the demand for services at the library. Mrs. Hoch moved Mrs. Warner be placed on a 26 hour work basis. This was supported by Mr. Merritt and carried.
Mrs. Hight said she would need more clerical help soon. She cited another need of long standing was to bring the card catalogue up to date.
Mrs. Gatesman reported on progress in arrangements for the Francis Line travel movie lecture 'Best of the West' on February 21 at the school auditorium. Mr. Krieger said he would write the Collector of Internal Revenue for instructions on the tax obligation, if any, in connection with this lecture.
It was reported City Manager Tholen has had recent interviews in regard to roof, cornice and eaves repairs to the library building.
The remainder of the time was spent in discussing details of a new budget with this to be continued at the next meeting tentatively set for February 6 at 7PM Adjournment was at 9:20PM Leslie B. Merritt, secretary
