A library board meeting was held at the library at 7:30PM Members present: Theodor Krieger, Mrs. Harry Williams, and Leslie B Merritt Mr. Krieger served as temporary chairman. Minutes of the meeting of May 26, 1948 were read and approved. Mrs. Minnie Van Slyke, librarian reported to the board on the number of patrons books loaned, magazines loaned, purchases of books, magazines and some problems of administration and also made a financial report. It was moved by Mr. Merritt and seconded by Mrs. Williams that Mr. Krieger be chairman of the board. Motion carried. Moved by Mrs. Williams and supported by Mr. Krieger that Mr. Merritt be secretary of this board. Motion carried. There was a discussion on arriving at more definite understanding of duties with the janitor. It was suggested the matter of insulation the roof be considered a an early board meeting. By general agreement it was determined to hold quarterly library board meetings or special meetings at the call of the chairman, with the next regular meeting in March the chairman to determine the exact date.
