Meeting Minutes: A regular meeting of the commission was held at the Library on Monday afternoon, March 24th, with all members present
. Dr. Noble called the meeting to order, and the secretary's report of the February meeting was approved
. Dr. Noble reported that he had consulted with Mayor Mr. Itener and Councilman Bush regarding the city assuming the costs of heat and lights for the library he received encouragement that the city would take over these expenses
.
The board moved that the accumulation of ashes at the rear of the library be removed and that, henceforth, all ashes must be placed in baskets for city removal
. Mr. Strobel was appointed to handle the purchase of these baskets
. Mr. Strobel was also tasked with determining the cost of an ornamental fence to replace the wire fence across the north lawn, aimed at preventing pedestrians from crossing the grass
. Repairs to the entrance door, rest-room, and windows as suggested by Mrs. Van Slyke were authorized to be arranged by Dr. Noble
