August Report
During the early part of August, the contemplated repairs on the library (mentioned in the minutes of Board meeting on page 415 of this book) were made. The stack rooms were painted, walls and floor, and the woodwork varnished, the walls in main reading rooms were washed and the main entrance steps entirely rebuilt by Geo. Watkins, Mason. Fred Knapp was the decorator employed. On Aug. 1, the balance in the bank credited to library fund was $1412.07 and the amt. due from taxes $3332.84 which the City of Howell will deposit any day.
