our own views by those of a competent architect as to whether the work so far done on the Library Building was up to specifications also as to estimates.
General discussion. No action

Mr. Wood brought the question of having the specifications copied by Miss Holt in the LIbrary Record before the meeting. No action.

Mr. Wood also suggested the Board asking Architect Myers to come weekly or every 10 days and inspect the work, this board to allow the expenses except as to one inspection a month. No action

After general discussion in which Mr. Wood moved we go ahead and select books but not seconded and on the motion of Mr. VanWinkle, the
Board adjourned.

June 1st, 2d 8th Mr. Wood wrote Col. Myers quite fully as to the work and suggested frequent visits & careful compliance with contract as to water table, tieing walls

June 8th On call of the President the LIbrary Board met at Mr. VanWinkle's office at 4.30 P.M. all present except Mr. Wood who appeared at 5:15
On motion of Mr. VanWinkle, seconded by Mr. Adams the following motion was carried 'I move that we employ a competent architect or builder or both to visit Howell and inspect the Library
Building and advise with the Library Commissioners concerning the work done and being done in the construction of the building and the president of this board be authorized to
execute this resolution by employing such person or persons as he deems advisable for the purpose aforesaid and see that proper written report is made to this board & at lowest possible cost'
On motion, Board adjourned at call of President.

June 8, 1903 Mr. Chittenden of Lansing and Mr. Gordan Jr. visited the Library Building. Also Mr. Kirle Supervisor, Also Hon. S.S. South ? and Mr. Wood.

The Board of Library Directors met at 4.30 PM at Mr. VanWinkle's office. All present except Mr. McPherson who later appeared.
Mr. Gordan read the report of Mr. Chittenden, the Lansing expert builder, which is as follows >Howell Mich. June 9, 1903
To The Board of Directors of the Carnegie Library Building of Howell, Mich.
Gentlemen,
According to your request and accompanied by Mr. Gordan of your board, I ?beg have to report as follows upon the examination of the walls that are being erected for the basement story of
your Library Building
