Howell, Michigan June 24, 1955

A meeting of the Library Board was called to order at 7:15PM Present were Theodore Krieger, chairman, Leslie Merritt, secretary, Mrs. H.L. Willams, trustee and Mrs. Karl Hoch, member ex-officio.

The librarian, Mrs. Hight, reported on the library internship at Adrian which she had attended. She spoke of the advantages she had observed in use of the 'sign-out' system in checking out library books. She said she might want to try this plan here if there were no objections. None was offered.

Mrs. Hight was asked to make inquirers on the cost of a replacement for a from screen door and report her findings to Mr. Krieger.

The matter of painting the building's outside trim and redecorating the stack room was presented. Joe Grostic's bi was presented in the amount of $835. For this he agreed to replace window putty where needed repair plaster and use two coasts of paint. it was oved by Mrs. Williams, supported by Mr. Meritt and carried that the Grostic bid be accepted.

The matter of repairs to the ceiling of the D.A.R. museum room in the library basement was discussed. I
