Meeting Minutes: Mrs. Loren Willis, President of the Child Conservation Club, presented a proposition for her organization to purchase character dolls and small chairs for use by young children in a summer nursery school.
These items would later be presented as a permanent gift to the library, with the Library Commission's only obligation being to provide storage.
The gifts were accepted with thanks.
Upon request, Mrs. Van Slyke reported that $93.84 had been spent for books and rebinding since April 15th.
Mr.Strobel,the Treasurer,reported a balance in the treasury of $845 as of June 1st.
Mrs. Van Slyke was authorized to purchase $150.00 worth of books for June and July, with 75% of those being fiction.
The librarian was granted two weeks vacation with pay.

Meeting Minutes: The Library Commission met on Monday, July 15th, with Dr. Noble, Mr. Strobel, and Mrs. Gillette present.
The Treasurer reported a balance of $585.02 as of July 1st.
There was an inspection of the rubber matting in the lobby Dr. Noble agreed to ask the Baumanns to make it satisfactory.
After consulting the Librarian, Dr. Noble was authorized to appear before the City Council to interpret the annual report.
He was tasked with explaining that as building maintenance expenses increase over the years, the funds available for books decrease, and to request additional financial appropriations beyond the regular ½ mill tax.
A coat of paint for the roof was discussed but deferred until next year.
