Howell, Mich., Oct. 1921.
The Library Board met at the library Friday evening October 21, 1921.
Members Present: M. J. McPherson and Dr. E. L. Avery.
Member absent: A. Garland.
Minutes of last meeting were read and approved.
The lists of new books submitted by M. J. McPherson were to be ordered by the librarian.
The matter of making our reference books viz: Century Dictionary and the International Encyclopedias, up to date was discussed. Two new Century books are to be purchased at $2.50 per volume as per letter.
A letter asking for best terms was dictated by Mr. McPherson to be sent to the International Encyclopaedia Co., New York.
The following bills were allowed:
Oct 1–21. H. N. Beach, janitor's supplies — $2.63
Sept. 14, '21. S. H. Aldrich, printing — 23.50
' 7, '21. E. K. Johnson, janitor's supplies — 4.35
' 30, '21. Baker + Taylor, books — 51.03
Oct. 25, '21. Part of Librarian Association Expenses (labor applying photo) — 8.00
Oct. 25, '21. O. A. Bump (Asbestos Roof Coating on entire library roof 35 hours @ 75¢) — 26.25
Oct. salaries:
A. J. Brown — 60.00
Winnifred Brown — 60.00
Esther Yerkes — 45.00
45 magazines (the same as we have taken last year) were to be ordered by the librarian — 155.25

Received a call from Mr. Rose, teacher in Howell High School, in reference to books for Practical Radio Study. He further reports that three boys of our school, with his help, has installed a working Radio Machine which will receive messages from many parts of U.S. A sermon given in Pittsburg, Pa. and others.
List of books sent by Baker + Taylor Co were looked over and one to be returned.
Moved that the Library Board adjourn. Carried.
