Record of Proceedings Relating to The Howell Free Public Library and Carnegie Library Building. Howell, Mich., May 27, 1919.
The Library Board met at the library May 27th 1919 at one thirty o'clock. Members present: M. J. McPherson, E. L. Avery and Arthur Garland. Minutes of last meeting read and approved. Various requests for magazines and books were granted.
The following bills were allowed:
Geo. Wahr — books (5-15-19): $5.18
City water: $11.00
Survey Magazine: $4.00
Michigan Telephone: $2.00
Detroit Edison Co — lights: $7.15
A. J. Brown — May: $45.00
M. W. Brown — May: $55.00
Gladys Cook — (present): $27.50
Ilah Durfee: $7.50

Note: (Mrs. Thos. Gordon wishes to give a set of her brother, Fred Warren’s books on “Masonry” — We accept with thanks)
A. J. Brown was told to order rubber matting to match out new in front of receiving desk. He ordered it of Homer Beach.
M. Winnifred Brown was made Librarian with $55.00 a month salary beginning May 1st 1919.

The Library Board met at the library June 25, 1919. Members present: M. J. McPherson, Dr. E. L. Avery and A. Garland. Minutes of last meeting read and approved.
The election of officers for year beginning April 1st 1919:
M. J. McPherson was elected President.
A. Garland was elected Secretary.
Dr. E. L. Avery was elected Treasurer.
The following bills were allowed:

M. W. Brown — June: $55.00
Ilah Durfee — June: $30.00
John Hilderbrant: $6.50
Dennison Mfg. Co.: $1.10
Red Cross Magazine: $1.00
