RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS RELATING TO THE HOWELL FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY AND CARNEGIE LIBRARY BUILDING

April 30 1907
Board met at office of Thomas Gordon Jr. Present M.J. McPherson, Chapel, Barnes & R.B. McPherson.
The designation of John Britten as janitor accepted.
On Motion of Bruce McPherson supported by Chapel A.J. Brown was engaged as janitor for one yr @ $35.00 per month. There was an
understanding with the village. Council would pay half his salary of the janitor.

The following bills were allowed
Lucy Chapel Librarian salary for May $20.00
A.J. Brown Janitor
Salary for May $35.00 one half township 17.50
one half village 17.50
Electric Light & Water Com 11.00
water to ?Nov ber 1st
O.S. Person Trees 8.10
Electric LIght & Water Com ?nights 5.36
On motion Miss Chapel was allowed not to exceed $6.00 for expenses in attending a library meeting in Detroit.
