RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS RELATING TO THE HOWELL FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY AND CARNEGIE LIBRARY BUILDINGMay 5, 1903
Meeting of the Township Board of the township of Howell duly called.
Present John Kirk, Supervisor, Frank J. Holt, Clerk & J.L. Pettibone & D.D. Harger Justic of the Peace
The Architect having on April 27, 03 presented to this board a certificate that ? draw of $2000 worth of work & material had been furnished by A.G. Kuehnle the
contractor on the Library Bldg which certificate having been forwarded to R.A. Franks Cashier at Hoboken N.J. and this Board having ? from said
R.A. Franks a draft for $2000.00. it was moved and supported that a check for $1000 be drawn to A.G. Keuhnle and returned ? when this date, carried.
The receipt for the draft was signed by the board and mailed to Home Trust Company, Hoboken N.J.
The draft was endorsed by the Township Board and deposited inthe Bank of Alex McPherson & Co.
The check No. 3. for $1000 was delivered to Mr. Kuehnle.

Meeting of the township Board of the township of Howell, duly called
Present, Supervisor John Krile, Clerk Frank J. Holt and Justice Darrel D. Harger Absent Justice J.L. Pettibone
Moved by Harger, supported by Hold that the following resolution be accepted.
Resolved, that we issue and ? to A.G. Kuehnle a check as the banking house of Alex McPherson & Co. for the sum of seven hundred dollars,
bearing date this day, Carried
Received of the Township Board of the Townshipof Howell Seven hundred Dollars, Bring check #4 of date May 25th, 1903

The LIbrary Board of Directors met at 4.30 P.M. at the office of Wm. P. VanWinkle.
Mr. Wood presented the bill for preliminary expenses for $96.57 due to contingent Fund of the Township and moved its allowance. Seconded
by Mr. M.J. McPherson. General remarks by all. Yeas McPherson Wood
Nays Adams, Brooks, Gordan, VanWinkle Motion Lost
Mr. Wood present the bill of Mr Kuehnle for $44.00 extra on foundation and moved its allowance. No second.
Pres. Thos Gordan Jr. stated the object of the meeting to be to see if we can supplement ?
