    This is a photograph of the Hardy Family. Left to right, Royal C. Hardy, Margaret Alta Hardy, Franc Rumsey Hardy, Charlotte Alta Hardy Kelly, Ephraim William Hardy, Harold Wilson Hardy, and Lena Hardy.

    Written on the photograph, "Lena adopted Lura, and Charlotte was blind the last several years of her life". The date and location are unknown. The Hardy Family lived in Howell, Michigan.

  • Carol Jean Sheely, Howell, Michigan, 1922 - 2012

    This group of photographs are of Carol Jean Sheely, born in Howell, 1922 and died in 2012. Carol was the daughter of Margaret Alta Hardy and Clarence Sheely. They were married in Howell March 12, 1921. Carol's grand parents were Royal Crittenden Hardy and Francis Permilla Rumsey.

    The first photo was labeled Carol Jean, age 9, 1931, Monroe, Michigan.
    Another photograph, Carol on the porch holding a doll, contained the following information: "Margaret's divorce from Clarence Sheely was initiated in 1930 and finalized in 1932.  Margaret married Sumner Victor Manley on Christmas Day, 1932 in the dining room of the family home on 509 McCarthy Street, Howell, Michigan.  That home had several family events incidentally.  Margaret's brother, Harold, was killed in the upstairs bedroom in 1918, and Carol's mother was born in the downstairs bedroom in 1922, and Margaret's mother, Franc Rumsey died in that bedroom in 1936.   
    Harold Hardy, 1896 - 1918, died in an accident, "shot self with revolver".

    The is a photograph of the Hardy Family about 1889. Starting from the far left, name of the man and the woman in front of him, Earl and Alta Cornell, Mark B. Curdy and Velna Hardy Curdy, Howard Hardy and Ollie Warner (Walker) Hardy, Max Cornell and Cora Curdy, and Mr. Browning and Minni Browning. The photograph was taken about 1889 but the exact location is unknown.
