Meeting Minutes: The Library Commission met on Tuesday Evening June 30th with Mr. Woodhams, Mrs. Smith, and Mrs. Noble present. Mr. Barron and Mr. Cottrell, Mayor and Clerk of the city, met with the Commission.
A letter from Dr. Louis S. Brooke of Detroit was read. In this letter, Dr. Brooke offered as a gift to the library several bound magazine volumes, should the library care for such a gift. It was agreed that the Librarian should make a check of such reading material in the library and find what copies of Dr. Brooke's offer could be used.
The purchase of The New Britannica for $148.52 was approved.
It was the consensus of opinion of the Commission in the matter of the new furnace that with the approval of the Mayor and the City Council a new furnace with stoker should be purchased. Mr. Cottrell was instructed to receive other bids besides that of the American Radiator Co. If such bids were too slow in being received, however, the contract should be given to the American Radiator Co.
The Commission adjourned. Homer M. Noble, Sec'y
