Meeting Minutes: The Library Commission met at the library on Wednesday evening, Dec. 6th, with Dr. Noble, Mr. Strobel, and Mrs. Gillette being present.
The meeting was called to order by the president, Dr. Noble.
The minutes of the previous meeting were reviewed and accepted as read.
Another inspection of the matting in the lobby was made after a bill of $34.17 for the same was presented.
Dr. Noble agreed to ask the Baumanns to take up the strips recently laid and replace them with the exact material used in the original covering.
The treasurer, Mr. Strobel, reported a balance on hand as of November 1, 1939, of $669.70.
The State Library Fund total in the McPherson Bank was 106.60∗∗,withabalanceof∗∗64.27 remaining on December 6th.
Mrs. Van Slyke was instructed to pay a bill for rebinding in the amount of $48.00 from the latter balance.
It was suggested to the librarian that fiction to the amount of $18.00 be purchased monthly, as this represents the average sum received monthly from rentals and fines.
A motion was made and carried that Mr. Strobel investigate the cost of an iron railing for the center and sides of the entrance steps if the cost does not exceed $20.00, the work is to be done.
The meeting adjourned.
