Digital Archive of the Howell Carnegie Library Archives

Howell's Notable Women

The City of Howell has a rich history, with colorful and inspiring figures filling the timeline. This exhibit focuses on Howell's notable women of the past two centuries, highlighting their achievements and stories. Their stories are an important part of Howell history because they offer perspective into a world that we are unfamiliar with in this modern age.

Navigating the exhibit: Each page includes a summary of information about the woman who impacted Howell History in some way. These histories were gathered using library and archives resources, with citations provided for future research. Being that the archive is a local institution, and only contains the histories and stories provided by local inhabitants, it does not contain a complete history. Should you wish to provide a correction, or an addition, to any of the stories here, please do so. This is how we grow our beloved archive.
