  • Harriet (Armstrong McPherson) Grieve (1808-1887) married James Grieve (1796-1845) and were early settlers in Putnam Township, Livingston County,Michigan purchased land from federal government in 1835-1837. They had five children as follows: 
  • Katherine "Kittie" Grieve (1836-1880) never married. She was a well-loved teacher in Livingston County, Michigan for many years.
  • Henry Dudley Grieve (1838-1915) was the only son of James and Harriet Grieve. He married Phoebe Hemingway (1839-1927). They lived most of their lives as farmers in Unadilla Township, Michigan.

    Children of Henry Dudley and Phoebe (Hemingway) Grieve:
    • Grace Henrietta Grieve (1862-1935)
    • Frederick Marshall Grieve (1874-1964)
    • Katherine Gertrude (1881-1956)
  • Harriet Grieve (1845-1933) married Sylvester Topping (1848-1931). He ran a general store and sawmill in Plainfield. The sawmill went up in flames one day, which was the first fire the town's new fire engine was put to use on. They owned a large house in Plainfield. Sylvester tragically committed suicide, hanging himself in the barn in February 1932. For many years he was the local postmaster. Also organist for the church choir.

    First appointed in 1992, re-elected in 1994, 1996, and 2002. Retired in 2005.
  • Probate Judge Susan Reck, Livingston County, Michigan - 1994

    Susan Reck was Probate Judge for Livingston County from 1989 to 2007.
  • William Hemingway 90th Birthday at Dora (Hemingway) Davis Home in Howell, Michigan - 1903.  William Hemingway is Dora Davis' father.
