    William H. Gilkes was born 1909 in Howell, and died 2004 in Howell. Mr. Gilkes was co-owner and operator of Gilkes and Ziska Hardware, located in downtown Howell, Livingston, Michigan.

    Mr. Bennett was born 1897 in New Jersey, and died in Howell, Livingston, Michigan in 1969.   He married Mildred Guestschow in 1926.

    Following his retirement in 1957, Mr. Bennett was instrumental in the formation of the Community Recreation Program, and the Howell Junior Baseball Program.  He was also the Director for Howell Recreation.  In 1965, he received the Howell "Citizen of the Year" award.
