Northwest Corner of Grand River and Mill St. Intersection of Fowlerville, Michigan in the Late 1800s
Original brick Palmerton Block erected 1876 on the Northwest corner of Grand River and Mill St. Was entirely destroyed by fire March 15, 1891. Bottom left corner is the Reason House, formerly known as Independence Hall.
The first floor was occupied by Gay and Ellsworth Bank (southeast corner of building) and Mr. Palmerton's General Merchandise (entrances on both Mill St. and Grand River Ave.) For more information view the Mastodons to Manufacturers: A History of Fowlerville, Michigan in the Local History Room. -
