This is a photograph at the dedication of the Civil War or Solder's Monument, May 30, 1895, Howell, Michigan. This monument is near the entrance to Lakeview Cemetery. Members of the Grand Army Republic, the Women's Relief Corps, and the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War marched to the cemetery for the event.
The keynote speaker was Hazen Pingree, Detroit's mayor and Michigan's future governor.
This photograph was included in David Finney's "Images of America: Howell", 2013, p. 119, and is of Civil War Veterans, from the Howell, Michigan, Waddell Post No. 120, September 1898. He reported that the veterans from the Grand Army of the Republic rode on this wagon in the Floral Parade.

Was a lifelong resident of Howell, Michigan. Served in WWII from February 27, 1941 to December 4, 1945. Howard was also the Company Commander for the Howell National Guard for thirteen years.
