    This is a collection of photographs from Unified Industries, Incorporated.  Unified Industries opened in 1953 at 1033 Sutton Street, Howell, Michigan.  A cement building for their factory was built on Thompson Lake at the old fairgrounds.  The plant manager and part owner, John F. Miller, is featured in the two portaits included in this collection.

    Unified Industries made aircraft and automobile parts, using steel and plastic.   The photographs show the production areas where car bumpers and other parts were made in 1957 and into the 1960's.  Later, they produced rail trolleys and bridge cranes tracks.  In 2017, Unified Industries joined Columbus McKinnon and moved their factory to Brighton in 2019.  The new location is 740 Advance, Brighton, Michigan.

    These photographs are of employees of the Spencer-Smith Machine Shop, Roosevelt Street, Howell, Michigan.  The wall calendar is turned to February 1920.  They manufactured pistons for cars, trucks, airplanes and tractors.   Leo Baltrus is captioned on this picture, and the date 1922.

    The names of the persons and exact dates are unknown.

    These are photographs of Refrigeration Research Incorporated, 525 North Fifth Street, Brighton, Michigan.  The photographs also included the notation, "Hartland - E.J. Duncan".

    Refrigerator Research Inc., was founded in 1944 by Ed Bottum, who remained president until 1996, and active in the business until his death in 2001.  The business manufactured parts for the refrigeration and air-conditioning industry.  Refrigeration Research Inc., also is home to the Refrigeration Research Museum.

    This group of photographs were labeled "Howell Motors Dickerson 1968".   Ralph Dickerson was employed by Howell Electric Motors Company, for 48 years.  He was born in 1902 in Howell, and died in 1967.  Mr. Dickerson was a production supervisor and at the time of his retirement a buyer.

    The names of the others in the pictures and the locations are unknown.

    These photographs were noted to be products of R & D Screw Products Company, Laray Industries, 810 Fowler Street, Howell, Michigan, 1952.

    The owners of this company were William R. Dymond and Norman C. Dymond.

    This group of photographs documents the construction in 1970 of the new Pepsi-Cola Metropolitan Bottling Company, Inc., canning plant.  The plant was built on a 21 acre parcel in the McPherson Industrial Park at 755 McPherson Park Drive, Howell, Michigan.  The building was 73,000 square feet, and at the time was the largest bottler in Michigan.
