  • the Homecoming Court and game of the 1973-1974 school year. Linda Dorsey was crowned Homecoming Queen, the rest of the girls on the court were Carol Kloster, Laura Schild, Barb Greenway, Linda Purvis, and Vanessa Kinser.
  • Howell, Michigan City Band and the 30 Fireman with their Champion Chemical Engine waiting for 4th of July parade to start. They are on the corner of Main Street (present day State Street) and Grand River looking north. The engine was purchased in January 1874.

    A "Jackie" band was part of the larger John Phillip Sousa Navy Band.  They toured the country as part of the movement to sell Liberty Loan bonds during World War I.

    Can see store fronts for Johnson's Drug Store, Chapel's Jewelery with awning also showing Optician, a sign with Cigars and Soda, awning showing Martyns, Howell Radio Shoppe, and Cash Grocery. The side of the Johnson's Drug Store building has a Wrigley's Spearmint Gum ad and a partial sign for Drug & Book Store.

  • This is a collection of photographs that were taken during the 1952 Howell High School, Howell, Michigan, Senior Trip to Washington, D.C.  The class left on the four day trip on May 7th, 1952.

    The exact location and names of the persons in the photographs are unknown.
  • This is a photograph of the Howell High School Play held at the Howell Opera House, 121 - 123 West Grand River Avenue, Howell, Michigan.

    The date of this event and the names of the persons in the photograph are unknown.
  • This collection of photographs was labeled "Senior Play, 1915".  In April 1915, the Howell High School Senior Play was "Esmeralda", and was presented on one night, April 16, 1915 at the Howell Opera House, Howell, Michigan.

    A column in the April 21st, 1915 edition of the Livingston Republican recalled, "The Senior Play At the Opera House Friday Evening Was a Decided Success".  Continuing the paper noted, "A one hundred eighty-five dollar house was the way the people of Howell and vicinity appreciated the Senior Play, 'Esmeralda' at the Opera House.  The parts were well taken and well sustained.  Much credit is due to not only those who took part but to Mrs. W. C. Huntington who trained the actors and staged the play".

    The 1915 "Torch", listed the Cast of Characters and their student actors as Stanley Warner, G. D. Monroe, Ralph Yerkes, Venice Stuible, Mary Bullis, Edwin Beebe, Irene Taziman, Maggie Cummiskey, Ethel Sharp, Harold Hardy, and Lee VanHorn.

    "Esmeralda" was a celebrated play of that day by Mrs. Francis Hodgson and William H. Gillette.  Admission to the play was 35 and 50 cents.
  • This photograph shows the school bus accident that occurred on last steel truss bridge on Hamburg Road, Livingston County, Michigan.  This bridge spanned the Huron River and collapsed under the weight of the bus in the fall of 1962.  The school bus was carrying sixty elementary students to the Hamburg School, and fortunately, there were no serious injuries.
