The is a photograph of the Hardy Family about 1889. Starting from the far left, name of the man and the woman in front of him, Earl and Alta Cornell, Mark B. Curdy and Velna Hardy Curdy, Howard Hardy and Ollie Warner (Walker) Hardy, Max Cornell and Cora Curdy, and Mr. Browning and Minni Browning. The photograph was taken about 1889 but the exact location is unknown. -
Harriet (Armstrong McPherson) Grieve (1808-1887)
Harriet (Armstrong McPherson) Grieve (1808-1887) married James Grieve (1796-1845) and were early settlers in Putnam Township, Livingston County,Michigan purchased land from federal government in 1835-1837. They had five children as follows:
- Katherine "Kittie Grieve (1836-1880)
- Henry Dudley Grieve (1838-1915)
- Mary Grieve (1842-1900)
- Margaret Grieve (1843-1937), never married. She was deaf and lived next to her sister Mary in Gregory, Michigan.

Harriet Grieve (1845-1933)
Harriet Grieve (1845-1933) married Sylvester Topping (1848-1931). He ran a general store and sawmill in Plainfield, Michigan. The sawmill went up in flames one day, which was the first fire the town's new fire engine was put to use on. They owned a large house in Plainfield, Michigan. Sylvester tragically committed suicide, hanging himself in the barn in February 1932. For many years he was the local postmaster. Also organist for the church choir. -

This photograph is also found in the "Old Brighton Village" book, 1974. In that book, this photograph is captioned, "William Deeter, bartender,and Peter and Bert Hartman pose with three customers in the Hartman Saloon on Main Street, Brighton - about 1850."
The book continues, "A meat market replaced the saloon just before the turn of the century, and the deerhead, horns, and clock remained. The market was located where Hayner Real Estate office now stands". (1974).
Hayner Real Estate was located at 408 W. Main Street, Brighton.
Unlikely 1850, William Deeter born 1864 is found in Brighton, in the 1900 census, as saloonkeeper. -
Hazel "Joy" Schmidt Bigelow and William Riddle Bigelow - before 1991
Hazel Joy Schmidt born 1907 in Howell township, Livingston County, Michigan; teacher, entire career in Howell, Michigan and Hartland, Michigan schools; taught elementary education for 30 years. She died in 1991.
William Riddle Bigelow, born 1902 Oceola township, Livingston County, Michigan; was a farmer and former salesperson for R. D. Smith Ford Tractor.
They married in 1941 and were lifetime residents of Livingston County, Michigan. -
Henry Dudley Grieve (1838-1915)
Henry Dudley Grieve (1838-1915) was the only son of James and Harriet Grieve. He married Phoebe Hemingway (1839-1927). They lived most of their lives as farmers in Unadilla Township, Michigan.
