    These photographs were taken during the Parade on October 22nd, 1942 during the World War II Scrap Drive held in Howell Michigan.  The names of the persons are unknown; the parade route was on Grand River Avenue.

    This photograph was taken in Howell Michigan at the intersection of West Grand River Avenue and Walnut Street; Garland's is in the background.  It shows a farmer with a team of horses hitched to a grain binder.  This farm machinery cut and tied the grain into bundles for threshing.  The names of the persons in the photograph are unknown.  The year is unknown but Grand River Avenue appears unpaved which would make the time frame prior to 1915.

    This is a photograph taken of the storefronts on the 100 block of West Grand River Avenue, Howell, Michigan.  The street is snow covered and a horse and sleigh are in the foreground.  The businesses on the block include Homer N. Beach Dry Goods and William McPherson & Sons Dry Goods. 

    Homer N. Beach is "Going out of Business"; he died in July 1926.  The date of this photograph and the name of the person in the photograph are unknown.

    This is a photograph of the southside of the 100 block of West Grand River Avenue near Walnut Street, and shows several storefronts, including the Garland Building, A & P Grocery and the Opera House.

    The name of the photographer is unknown but they have captioned it "worked here".

    This is a photograph of a parade heading east on East Grand River Avenue at the Livingston County Courthouse. The Knights Templar are in the foreground, and is likely the Howell Commandery No. 28.

    Also in the photograph are buggies, onlookers, early cars, and the signage of the Temple Theater.   A color guard unit is following the Knights Templar.

    The names of the persons and exact date are unknown.  It is noted that Grand River is unpaved; Grand River Avenue was paved in 1915.
