This image was included on the First National Bank Calendar, and was taken just east of the Grand River Avenue and Division Street (Michigan Avenue) intersection, in 1913, and shows members of the commandery in their cars.

Knights Templar Conclave Parade in Howell, Michigan - 1913
This is a photograph of a parade heading east on East Grand River Avenue at the Livingston County Courthouse. The Knights Templar are in the foreground, and is likely the Howell Commandery No. 28.
Also in the photograph are buggies, onlookers, early cars, and the signage of the Temple Theater. A color guard unit is following the Knights Templar.
In 1913 the Knights Templar Organization held their annual Conclave (convention) in Howell, Michigan. As members of the socity gathered from everywhere in the state and each unit marched through Howell, Michigan in a gala parade.
The names of the persons are unknown. It is noted that Grand River is unpaved; Grand River Avenue was paved in 1915. -

Kinsley S. Bingham, Brighton, Michigan, Governor, 1855 & 1857
This is a photograph of a float honoring Kinsley S. Bingham, of Brighton, Michigan. Kinsley S. Bingham was our first governor from the county of Livingston, Michigan.
Bingham was elected Governor of Michigan in 1855 and 1857, then was elected United States Senator from Michigan in 1859. He died in 1861.
The photo shows the "Hotel Hayes" in the background which is located in Jackson, Michigan. The Hayes Hotel building is still standing although not a hotel. If you look at a Google image of the hotel, you can tell based on the unique point at the top center and brick work. Also Jackson was where the historic "Meeting Under the Oaks" occurred on July 6, 1854 and is a Michigan Historic Site complete with a Michigan historical marker number S0015. It appears to be a 4th of July parade, circa 1954. -
